What We Offer
We consult. Through our deep experience in design, engineering and creative technology for cultural organizations, we can help you develop a plan to move your organization forward no matter what technological stage you are at. We create project briefs, roadmaps, and strategic plans. We do site visits, workshops, and executive coaching, all centered around developing digital literacy within your organization.
We engineer. Rooted in building foundational infrastructure for cultural organizations, our studio is focused on helping museums help themselves by creating sustainable digital products and experiences that embed digital into your organization’s DNA. We work with the tools and technologies that make the most sense for the unique needs of our clients. Whether it’s a WordPress backend or a custom GraphQL API, we custom tailor your technology stack from the ground up.
We design. Our designers focus on your visitor’s experience. We call them experience designers, but they have a range of experiences that pair with the needs of the artistic and cultural sectors. We believe in a human centered design approach and our design teams are always working in the service of our client’s clients.
We data science. We love data, and we love using data to bring your organization’s stories to life. We use machine learning, computer vision, and more to enhance your data and find new relationships and stories within your existing assets. Through data science we can help your organization understand the shape of its collections.
Who We Are
We’re a team of museum specialists, engineers, designers, product managers, and data scientists who help museums redefine themselves through the sensible application of technology.
I’m a technologist, writer, photographer and programmer. My work has spanned the areas of digital content strategy, management and infrastructure planning, computer programming and development of scalable web applications utilizing a wide variety of languages, systems and technologies. I was previously the Director of Digital & Emerging Media at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City.
I'm a visual designer who enjoys working with a variety of mediums to create engaging communications for clients in the cultural, educational, and artistic sectors. Passionate about typography, language, and visual systems, I try to bring a level of humor and levity to my work wherever possible. Previously, I was a designer at Pentagram where I developed brand identities, campaigns, and environmental graphics.
I'm a creative director and co-founder of Superficial, a studio creating films, 3D-imagery and interactive experiences where contemporary culture meets future speculation. I'm also co-founder of Coincide, a branding and experience studio focused on using design to help early-stage companies, and cultural clients. Previously, I was an associate partner at Pentagram. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, I've lived and worked in Berlin, Shanghai and New York.
I have an academic background in museum studies and arts administration. My past experiences have focused in communications, marketing and program coordination. I am passionate about connecting audiences to the programs and collections that museums have to offer. At Micah Walter Studio, I oversee project management, team coordination, and social media.

I connect physical and virtual spaces for people to explore and play in, I help restore and preserve computer art and hardware mostly from the 70s-90s, and I like to paint programs. I help architect and develop code for Micah Walter Studio so people can explore and have fun with museum collections. I've taught and learned at School for Poetic Computation, Parsons, and ITP.
I've always had an interest in making computers do things for me, be that generating art, generating music and even generating stories & poetry on my behalf. Even if sometimes making the computer do those things turns out taking longer that it’d take doing them myself. I also like cats, although getting them to do anything is even harder, especially poetry.
I’m a full stack software developer specializing in front end software applications. In other words, I build digital products for humans, like websites and apps. I like staying current on emerging technologies like AR, and blockchain. In past careers, I’ve co-founded a media startup, and I’ve worked in various design fields like architecture and industrial design. In all of my work, I aim to build technology with a human focus.
